Kelly Kaminski Is No Stranger To Dealing With Change

A five-time National Finals Rodeo qualifier in barrel racing and a two-time Women’s Professional Rodeo Association world champion (2004-05), Kaminski faced numerous challenges during her professional career. “I’ve changed a few tires on the side of the road heading to rodeos,” she said. “And I got drawn out of rodeos because I didn’t get my entry fees turned in on time. There was always something.” These days, Kaminski is helping youth rodeo contestants learn how to overcome obstacles while serving as the producer of the Kelly Kaminski Run for Vegas Barrel Racing and Pole Bending competitions. Once again, Kaminski and her kids will be in Las Vegas for the Junior World Finals on Dec. 5-14 in Las Vegas. Junior and senior barrel racing and 17 & Under pole bending are scheduled for Dec. 10-14. Kaminski has overseen barrel racing at the Junior […]

Charting A New Path In 2024

Contestants and fans should prepare themselves for a unique experience at this year’s YETI Junior World Finals. Now in its ninth year, the rodeo takes place Dec. 5-14 and will once again be at the Las Vegas Convention Center, with a twist. “The Junior World Finals will be held outside in a 52,000 square-foot tent just south of The Cowboy Channel Cowboy Christmas,” said Brilynn Bentley, the Corporate Marketing Manager for Las Vegas Events and the JWF Assistant General Manager. “So you will walk through Cowboy Christmas and walk out to the Junior World Finals Arena. “Contestants will have a parking lot next to the tent for the timed-events and our roughstock group will be able to walk straight through Cowboy […]

Bronc Evans Steals The Show

LAS VEGAS – It was only fitting that Bronc Evans got to throw the last loop at the 2023 Junior World Finals. After all, no contestant at the recently completed rodeo spent more time in the Wrangler Rodeo Arena than did the 12-year-old from Fairview, Missouri. Evans started his Junior World Finals advancing to the […]

Championship Saturday: Poles And Barrels

LAS VEGAS – This wasn’t the first Junior World Finals for Ashlyn McCleve. It was, however, the first time the cowgirl from Gilbert, Arizona, had qualified for the short go-round of the Kelly Kaminski Run for Vegas senior barrel racing. So McCleve and her horse, Jewels, made the most of the opportunity. Saturday, McCleve put […]

Holbrook Has Been Dynamite

LAS VEGAS – Carsyn Holbrook is making the most out of her first trip to Las Vegas. Friday, the 13-year-old from Cibolo, Texas, followed up her first-round win in the Kelly Kaminski Run for Vegas pole bending with a 19.710-second run – the fastest of the week – to win the second round at the […]
