Please review the Health Requirement statement regarding equine temperature monitoring and arrival requirements for the 2025 Junior National Finals Rodeo. In addition to the protocols outlined in the attached statement, all participants are strongly advised to avoid all travel with competing or potentially competing horses prior to arrival and to remain in their current location. This recommendation is intended to minimize exposure risks, reduce potential disruption to your horses’ health, and support safe entry procedures for all equine athletes. These requirements are subject to change as the situation evolves.

Please ensure you read the full release carefully, as it includes:

  • Temperature documentation beginning November 20, 2025

  • New CVI requirement for horses - 7 day with unique permit number provided by your veterinarian. Veterinarians will use the portal below.

  • New VSV entry requirements for livestock originating from or traveling through affected states

  • A post-event quarantine advisory for returning home after the Junior NFR

Notable Changes to the Junior NFR

Effective 11/19/2025
All horses entering the state of Nevada from any location must have a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) and obtain an entry permit number from the Nevada Department of Agriculture within seven (7) days of arrival. This requirement is in effect for all horses through December 31, 2025. If you have already submitted a CVI for your horses and it does not have a permit number, contact your veterinarian and have them work with the NV Dept. of Ag. on obtaining an individual permit number for your CVI.

The CVI must include the following statement:
“These horses have not been on an EHV-positive premises for the past 21 days.”
Please ensure this is included on all documentation prior to transport to Nevada to avoid delays or denied entry.

Horses will be checked in daily on-site at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Upon arrival, please proceed directly to the designated parking lot and keep all horses inside the trailer until a veterinarian or staff member has reviewed your documentation. Please understand that the on-site veterinarians hold the authority for all final decisions.

Documents to have available at Las Vegas Convention Center:

  • 12-month Coggins

  • 30-day CVI (with 7 day statement of health)

  • Individual Temperature Monitoring Log

Email submission will only be for outstanding vaccination logs at this time.

During the last fourteen (14) days, these animals have not been exposed to VSV nor located on a VSV confirmed or a VSV suspected premises.”
