 Free app to provide interactive maps, social media engagement, schedules and much more

 

 

The NFR 2012 Mobile Application is free and available on all platforms, including Blackberry, iPhone and Android devices.  Apple users can access at www.NFRapp.com/itunes.  For all others, simply go to www.NFRapp.com through your mobile web browser. Wrangler NFR fans, whether in Las Vegas for therodeo or simply following the action from home, will be able to download the application for free.  The NFR 2012 App will include the following features:

Schedule – Complete list of performance times, NFR 9-5, NFR After Dark and satellite viewing locations;

Cowboy FanFest – Full schedule of events and list of sponsors for FanFest, the newest addition to the Wrangler NFR, which will feature 100,000-square feet of the best of the Western lifestyle;

Cowboy Christmas Gift Show – Info about the official gift show of the Wrangler NFR;

Community – Connect with fans and friends via social media and stay up-to-date on the Wrangler NFR;

Map – Fans can plan their activities with the newest feature of the NFR 2012 app that provides an interactive map of the Las Vegas Strip and Downtown, plus links to outlying areas;

Shuttle – Find the complimentary shuttle bus schedule that services 22 hotel properties and FAQs;

Stats – Link to live stats during the ten days of competition;

Photos/Video – The Wrangler NFR comes to life with daily photo and videogalleries;

NFR Online Ticket Exchange – Search and purchase for Wrangler NFR tickets at the safe, secure and authentic ticket exchange;

Wrangler – Connect to Wrangler social media outlets, Wrangler cowboys, video and charitable causes. 

 

“The new NFR 2012 App is the next evolution in the marketing of the world’s richest and most prestigious rodeo,” said LVE President Pat Christenson.  “For the two weeks surrounding the Wrangler NFR, there are so many ways that fans can engage in the NFR experience.  The NFR 2012 App allows fans to plan their experience with the interactive map, find the complete schedule of events, connect with fans and friends and follow the NFR experience in their own way.”

 

The Wrangler NFR, known as the richest and most prestigious rodeo in the world, has sold out 260 consecutive performances and attracts the top 15 contestants in bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, barrel racing and bull riding as they compete for a share of the $6.125 million purse.  Qualification is based on the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association World Standings.

The Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (NFR), considered the world’s premier rodeo, features 10 straight days of the best in rodeo competition, with a total of 120 contestants competing every night in seven events.  Each December, the top 15 contestants, based on the 2012 PRCA World Standings, in bareback riding, steer wrestling, teamroping, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, barrel racing, and bull riding qualify to compete at the Wrangler NFR.
