Wrangler NFR to Feature Nightly Pre-Event Entertainment and Customized Areas for Attendees

LAS VEGAS

From the moment fans arrive at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo at the Thomas & Mack Center, they will have the opportunity to enjoy multiple interactive and customized areas. From Dec. 7 – 16, rodeo fans will converge on Las Vegas, with the nightly rodeo action starting at 6:45 p.m.

One of the hightlights of the pre-event entertainment is The ‘Shoe, a 36,000-square-foot area featuring a spectacular, unobstructed view of the Las Vegas Strip from the balcony. In addition, The ‘Shoe will feature interactive areas, championship saddle displays and plenty of televisions.

Meanwhile, on the arena’s southeast side opposite The ‘Shoe, fans can enjoy all the activities and amenities of the returning Cowboy Corral, which takes over the adjacent Cox Pavilion with live music, a huge bar and plenty of space to sit and relax or kick up your heels. The following entertainers will perform inside the Cowboy Corral:

Dec. 7 and 14 – Daryle Singletary
Dec. 8 and 9 – Mark Wills
Dec. 10 & 11 – David Ball
Dec. 12 & 13 – Andy Griggs
Dec. 15 & 16 – Ricochet
Post Event (all ten nights) – Wynn Williams

The Bull ‘N Barrel, located right outside the entrance to Cowboy Corral, offers its own custom saloon and food service.

In addition, fans can enjoy multiple on-site elements in front of the arena, including the ProRodeo Zone, the exclusive fan interactive area of the Wrangler NFR. Sponsors provide interactive activities in tents adjacent to the arena. There are also additional interactive elements and food and beverage options set up in the NFR Fan Zone, on the plaza directly in front of the entrances.

“Our goal each year is to create a seamless experience for our fans,” said Pat Christenson, president of Las Vegas Events, which produces the Wrangler NFR. “This begins with the complimentary shuttle bus service and continues with the pre-event entertainment leading into the start of the rodeo. There is no bigger priority for LVE than the fan and the overall experience from the moment they arrive at the Thomas & Mack Center.”

To further alleviate congestion in the area, there are now three preferred entrances into the arena – Main, ‘Shoe and Corral. These will improve flow in, out and around the concourse. The preferred entrances are based on seat location and are the quickest way to get fans to their seat. There are elevators at all three entrances, as well as escalators at the Main Entrance and the northwest side ‘Shoe Entrance.

Access to The ‘Shoe, Cowboy Corral and the Bull ‘N Barrel Saloon is available to all fans with a Wrangler NFR ticket for that evening’s performance. The ‘Shoe and Cowboy Corral will also feature the live broadcast of the rodeo each night.

Sold out for more than 300 consecutive performances, the Wrangler NFR attracts the top 15 contestants in bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, barrel racing, and bull riding. Under the new contract with the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association that runs through 2024, the purse in 2017 will jump to $10 million. Qualification is based on the 2017 PRCA World Standings.
