Lucas Oil Rodeo Way at Cowboy FanFest to Feature Unique Exhibits that Highlight the Best of Rodeo

Las Vegas, NV

LAS VEGAS (November 18, 2013) – Lucas Oil Rodeo Way, one of the six main features of Cowboy FanFest, will feature unique exhibits that highlight the best of rodeo.
 
Free and open to the public, FanFest will feature 100,000 square feet of the best of the Western lifestyle, giving fans a chance to enjoy the best that rodeo has to offer.  Located adjacent to the Cowboy Christmas Gift Show, FanFest will run concurrently with the Wrangler NFR and the Cowboy Christmas Gift Show, from Thursday, Dec. 5 through Saturday, Dec. 14 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
 
Designed as the main entrance into Cowboy FanFest and built to look like an old Western town, Lucas Oil Rodeo Way will feature 12 interactive booths. Each booth is specially decorated allowing fans to experience a wide array of memorabilia and rodeo history.
 
Exhibitors include Cheyenne Frontier Days, Frontier Rodeo Company, Helldorado Days, History of the NFR presented by Gist Silversmiths, Indian National Finals Rodeo, Miss Rodeo America Exhibit presented by C-A-L Ranch Stores, NFR After Dark, NFR Livestock, NFR 360, San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, Southeast Montana and Sutton Rodeo.
 
In addition to Lucas Oil Rodeo Way, Cowboy FanFest will include the following main anchor displays and programming elements:
 
· Ram Rodeo Live – Daily features include live acoustic music and Flint Rasmussen with his popular show, “Outside the Barrel”;
· Boot Barn Saloon – Every great party needs a saloon. Located in the center of FanFest, the Boot Barn Saloon features video screens with a replay of the prior night’s Wrangler NFR performance and additional amenities;
· Rodeo Round Up – Located adjacent to the Boot Barn Saloon, this area features a menu of Holstein’s Shakes and Buns and Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop;
· Wrangler Rodeo Arena presented by Priefert – This replica of the Wrangler NFR arena seats 1,300 fans and will feature ranch sorting, horsemanship demonstrations, mini bucking bulls, Exclusive Genetics bull riding showcase, Cowboy Mounted Shooting and Miss Rodeo America activities;
· RFD-TV – RFD-TV will produce a daily live program from FanFest that includes previews of the Wrangler NFR, interviews with Wrangler NFR contestants, as well as features and segments on the post-event entertainment and performers scheduled to appear along the Las Vegas Strip and Downtown during the ten days and much more.

The addition of Cowboy FanFest will add yet another event during the early part of December in Las Vegas.  Known as the NFR experience, the ten days of rodeo transform the look and feel of the “Entertainment Capital of the World.” Each year, thousands of rodeo enthusiasts decked out in jeans, boots and cowboy hats fill hotels, casinos, restaurants, shopping malls and showrooms.  In addition, there are more than 20 hotel sponsors that support the Wrangler NFR and book some of the brightest stars in country music.
 
Sold out for 270 consecutive performances, the Wrangler NFR attracts the top 15 contestants in bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, barrel racing and bull riding as they compete for a share of the $6.25 million purse.  Qualification is based on the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association World Standings.

The Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (NFR), considered the world’s premier rodeo, features 10 straight days of the best in rodeo competition, with a total of 120 contestants competing every night in seven events.  Each December, the top 15 contestants, based on the 2013 PRCA World Standings, in bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, barrel racing, and bull riding qualify to compete at the Wrangler NFR.
