Wrangler National Finals Rodeo Anthem Contest Kicks Off on August 1

LAS VEGAS

The Wrangler National Finals Rodeo National Anthem Contest will launch on Wednesday, Aug. 1 at noon PT. The contest, open to all age groups, will reward two performers with the opportunity to sing the national anthem at the Wrangler NFR in Las Vegas, between the dates of Dec. 6 and 15.

All entries into the Wrangler NFR National Anthem Contest must be received by Friday, Aug. 24. From there, an initial fan vote will narrow the list to the Top 30. A panel of judges will then further narrow the list to the Top 8 for further open voting.

From Wednesday, Sept. 26 through Thursday, Oct. 4, fans will vote on their selection of choice among the final eight entries. The top two vote recipients will be announced as the winners on Friday, Oct. 5.

Known as the richest and most prestigious rodeo in the world, the Wrangler NFR attracts

the top 15 contestants in bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, barrel racing, and bull riding to compete for a share of the $10 million purse and the coveted Gold Buckle. In 2018, the event had a total attendance of 168,952 over the 10 days of competition and has sold out more than 300 consecutive performances.
