Cowboy FanFest Hosts Chapel During Wrangler National Finals Rodeo

LAS VEGAS

For the first time, couples looking to tie the knot in Las Vegas during the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo can do so right in the middle of Cowboy FanFest between Dec. 4-13. Guests everywhere are invited to reserve a time at the specially-designed Rope ‘Em in Wedding Chapel, powered by Zappos.com, located inside the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Those looking to plan a wedding or vow renewal can reserve their date by visiting www.littlechurchlv.com. Little Church of the West will coordinate each experience and officiate the ceremony. The first wedding will take place on Thursday, Dec. 4 at 11:30 a.m. and continue every 30 minutes until 3 p.m. daily.

This new initiative is powered by Zappos.com, the Las Vegas-based online retailer known for its outstanding customer service. Zappos.com offers a variety of products, including Western wear and boots.

“Partnering with the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo was a perfect match for Zappos. It allows us to showcase our wide selection of Western wear while creating fun and a little weirdness (our third core value),” said Stacey Sam, events and sponsorships manager at Zappos. “Since Zappos considers itself a service company first and foremost, we felt giving attendees the opportunity to exchange or renew vows was a unique service.”

After a successful second year, Cowboy FanFest will return for ten days of non-stop entertainment. It is the ultimate interactive fan experience with 100,000-square feet featuring the Best of the Western Lifestyle including live music and entertainment, specialty food and beverage, rodeo arena, interactive booths, rodeo exhibits and more. Total attendance for Cowboy Christmas and Cowboy FanFest reached 196,856 in 2013, surpassing the previous record of 186,100 set in 2012.

In addition to The Rope ‘em In Wedding Chapel powered by Zappos.com, Cowboy FanFest will include the following main anchor displays and programming elements:

• Rodeo Live presented by Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo – Daily features include live acoustic performances, Flint Rasmussen with his popular show, “Outside the Barrel,” “Alexis Bloomer Live” and RFD-TV’s live broadcast studio;

• Boot Barn Rodeo Saloon – Every great party needs a saloon. Located in the center of Cowboy FanFest, the Saloon features food vendors and video screens with a replay of the prior night’s Wrangler NFR performance;

• Wrangler Rodeo Arena presented by Priefert – The arena will seat 1,000 fans and feature ranch sorting, horsemanship demonstrations with Chris Cox and Craig Cameron, Colt Starting Challenge, flag girl competition, Wild Pony Races, All American Cowgirl Chicks, mini bucking bulls, Exceptional Rodeo and Miss Rodeo America Horsemanship;

• NFR Social Arena – This area will feature an interactive photo booth, contestant and musician autograph sessions, rodeo karaoke, giveaways and contests, including the new daily Pick 7 promotion for rodeo fans.

• Media Wall – This fan favorite features a graphic of all 120 Wrangler NFR contestants and other interactive elements.

Cowboy FanFest will fully complement the Cowboy Christmas Gift Show, the only official gift show of the Wrangler NFR.  Both will run Dec. 4 – 13 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the Las Vegas Convention Center and are open to the public with free admission.  Over the past 28 years, the Cowboy Christmas Gift Show has attracted more than 3.27 million attendees.

Sold out for 280 consecutive performances, the Wrangler NFR attracts the top 15 contestants in bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, barrel racing, and bull riding as they compete for a share of the $6.375 million purse.  Qualification is based on the 2014 Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association World Standings.
