Priefert World Series of Team Roping Rises to International Level

Las Vegas, NV

Las Vegas, NV - What started just six years ago as a recreational diversion for cowboys during the National Finals of Rodeo, has exploded into the richest roping event in the world, and the fifth richest horse event in the world. The World Series Grand Finale returns December 5th to South Point Equestrian and Events Center, in Las Vegas, NV.

According to equine statistical reporting, the top horse related events of 2011 are the Breeders Cup at $20 Million, the National Finals Rodeo at $6 Million, the Dubai World Cup at $6 Million, the Prix de L 'Arc at $5.4 Million, and the World Series of Team Roping at $4.7 Million. Las Vegas can proudly lay claim to two of these top five equine events. Individually they are both impressive, but together they distribute $10.7 Million in prize money into the cowboy industry within a 10-day period.

In addition, to daily roping competition South Point will be presenting a western Gift show, nightly entertainment, the WNFR buckle presentations, an art show, and filming for the TV Show "Beyond Rodeo."

Action will start Monday December 5th as more than 2,000 team ropers converge on Vegas for their chance at a piece of the large purse. During the 2011 season team ropers competed at 100 WSTR qualification events for the right to participate in this event. Ropers from the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Australia, and Italy are expected to attend.

Team Roping is the largest economical component of the recreational horse world producing over $60,000,000 in purses each year. The World Series of Team Roping Grand Finale has quickly become the richest and most prestigious showcase for the sport.

The event will run December 5th through December 10th, with action starting each day at 8 am and ending at 6pm. A live webcast will run throughout the event and can be found at wstroping.com and priefert.com
