The Academy of Country Music Partners with Wrangler National Finals Rodeo to be held December 1-10, 2011 at the Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS – November 22, 2011 – For the sixth consecutive year, the Academy of Country Music will host the Academy of Country Music Stage at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (NFR) held in Las Vegas from Thursday, December 1st through Saturday, December 10th.  New country artists will take the Academy of Country Music Stage in the Cowboy Corral, a special area created by Las Vegas Events, to entertain NFR fans inside the Cox Pavilion at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.  The event is free to NFR fans and open to all ticket holders.

 

The Academy of Country Music Stage will include performances from Chancey Williams & The Younger Brothers Band, Roger Creager, The Dirt Drifters, Brett Eldredge, JT Hodges, Steve Holy and James Wesley.  Doors will open at the Cowboy Corral at 5:00 PM/PST except on Sunday, December 4, when they open at 11:00 AM/PST.  Music performances on the Academy of Country Music Stage begin at 5:45 PM/PST except on Sunday, December 4, when it begins at 11:45AM/PST.  The shows continue after the rodeo ends with a second post-rodeo performance by each artist.

 

“The Academy is happy to continue the sponsorship with NFR, giving us the opportunity this year to present some of country music’s seasoned Texas bands and new artists for the NFR ticket holders,” said Michelle Goble, SVP, Membership & Events, Academy of Country Music.

·       Thursday, Dec, 1, 2011 – Brett Eldredge, 5:45pm & again immediately following rodeo

·       Friday, Dec 2, 2011 – JT Hodges, 5:45pm & again immediately following rodeo

·       Saturday, Dec 3, 2011 – James Wesley, 5:45pm & again immediately following rodeo

·       Sunday, Dec 4, 2011 – Chancey Williams & The Younger Brothers Band, 11:45am & again immediately following rodeo

·       Monday, Dec 5, 2011 – Chancey Williams & The Younger Brothers Band, 5:45pm & again immediately following rodeo

·       Tuesday, Dec 6, 2011 – Chancey Williams & The Younger Brothers Band, 5:45pm & again immediately following rodeo

·       Wednesday, Dec 7, 2011 – Chancey Williams & The Younger Brothers Band, 5:45pm & again immediately following rodeo

·       Thursday, Dec 8, 2011 – Roger Creager, 5:45pm & again immediately following rodeo

·       Friday, Dec 9, 2011 – The Dirt Drifters, 5:45pm & again immediately following rodeo

The Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (NFR), considered the world’s premier rodeo, features 10 straight days of the best in rodeo competition, with a total of 120 contestants competing every night in seven events.  Each December, the top 15 contestants, based on the 2011 PRCA World Standings, in bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, barrel racing, and bull riding qualify to compete at the Wrangler NFR.
