Second Annual Gold Card Reunion and World of Rodeo Gathering to Bring Together Legends of Sport

LAS VEGAS

One of the most impressive gatherings in the history of rodeo will take place this December during the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo.

“This new two day Gold Card Reunion will begin on Thursday, December 10 at 11am with lunch served and a hosted program by Hadley Barrett, the Gold Card Reunion is being held at the Si Redd Room, Thomas and Mack Center,” states Shawn Davis, this event is for PRCA Gold Card holders only.

On Friday, December 11, the Gold Card Reunion and World of Rodeo Gathering will be held at the Palms Casino Resort beginning with registration at 10am with visiting, 12-1pm luncheon, 1-2pm a star packed program with the remainder of the day being wild west rope and ride stories. This event will bring together the all-time greats of ProRodeo for a one-of-a-kind event that will not be soon forgotten. ProRodeo Hall of Famers Larry Mahan, Roy Cooper, Cotton Rosser, Dean Oliver, Deb Copenhaver, Donna McSpadden, Bud and Jimmie Munroe, Mel Hyland, Bob Ragsdale and John McBeth to name a few, as well as country music legend Reba McEntire – who got her start at the NFR in Oklahoma City – and cowboy, TV star and poet Red Steagall, rodeo clown Flint Rasmussen and country western star Moe Bandy will be among the attendees.

Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association Gold Card members and 2015 Wrangler NFR qualifiers will be in abundance at the special event, which also will include awards, video presentations and live and silent auctions. Benny Binion, Benny Reynolds Gold Card Awards and Alvin Nelson Rodeo Historical Society award will be given out, and the four oldest Gold Card members in attendance will receive special Gold Card buckles.

PRCA Announcer Brent Jordan will serve as emcee, while ProRodeo Hall of Fame announcer Hadley Barrett will host panel discussions and interview some of the legends in attendance. PRCA Commissioner Karl Stressman, Las Vegas Events President Pat Christenson and ProRodeo Hall of Famer and Wrangler NFR General Manager Shawn Davis will give remarks as part of the afternoon’s program.

“Everyone had such a great time at the reunion last year, and this year’s event is shaping up to be even bigger and better,” Larry Jordan said. “You won’t find another gathering of the best the sport and the Western industry has to offer than this Gold Card Reunion, and we couldn’t be more excited about what we have in store for everyone who attends this year.”

Last year’s event was a consummate success, with more than 500 people from 19 states and three Canadian provinces filing into the grand ballroom at The Palms to visit, enjoy some good food and share stories. Sharon Shoulders and Donna McSpadden will be there to represent the H.A.N.D.S. program, and representatives from the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association, National Senior Pro Rodeo Association, PRCA Circuit System Members, National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association, National High School Rodeo Association and Canadian Cowboys Association are also expected to attend the celebration.

Nationally known bull fighters and rodeo clowns are having a reunion and members will be presenting a special interesting involvement in the program.

In addition, The Wrangler Network, RFD-TV and Line Camp Productions will be on-site to record the proceedings and conduct interviews with some of the legends who attend.
