Brazile Continues Assault on the Record Books
One of the most compelling stories on the road to Las Vegas is Trevor Brazile’s bid for a seventh all-around gold buckle. If he gets it -- he leads Clint Robinson by $95,709 and will qualify for three Finals events to Robinson's one -- he will equal Ty Murray's record. If he were to win the tie-down and the all-around that would give him 11 world titles, which would tie him for third on the all-time list with Dean Oliver and Charmayne James, behind Guy Allen (18, all in SR) and Jim Shoulders (16, in multiple events). If Trevor were to pull off his second Triple Crown in three years (he is third in team roping and fifth in SR), he would move into third all by himself. He is mathematically in reach of an unprecedented Grand Slam (four gold buckles in one year).
